Grab some couch cushions or an large box and drape a sheet over them. Put toys and kitchenware for the kids to play with underneath. They can make a walkway to the structure with blocks. Set it up and hand out the invitations to all of the stuffed friends. It could be your dog or cats birthday, or your child’s favorite stuffed animals birthday. Decorate white paper plates for party invitations by coloring them and personalizing them. Bake up some cookies or have a popcornfest. Stretch out the preparation. Throw a ten minute party. Fill plastic bottles with whatever is on the shelf to make potions. Toothpaste, ketchup, food coloring - the yuckier the better. Add baking soda and vinegar and watch your concoction fizz. Clean out the magazine rack and have your kids clip pictures and paste them on paper. Suggest a theme, such as animals. Toss any magazine older than your toddler. Work them out. Keep Children Believing in Santa - Great Christmas Memories

Christmas is a magical season, for children and adults.  It’s through our children, that we recapture a little glimpse of our own youth.  Seeing our children’s faces light up in miraculous wonderment and complete innocence.

These precious years are fleeting, so many memories to be made, in such a minute period of time.  The time when children whole heartedly believe in Christmas miracles and the magic of the season.  Children grow up too fast in this high paced, plugged in world.  Keep your sons and daughters innocent as long as you can. 

There are some neat and fun things you can do with and for your children to keep the magic of Christmas alive.    Get a letter from Santa, or better yet how about a live phone call from the big fat man himself.  It’s kind of hard not to believe in Santa when he calls you on the phone!

I did this with my last year, and they loved it.  I’m betting yours will too!
